A Bright Blue C8 Corvette Gets Complete Paint Protection Film Coverage in Salt Lake City

The C8 Corvette is a significant departure from every Corvette that came before it — mid-engine layout, wide body, and a paint surface that sits very close to the road. That last point matters for PPF: the C8's low nose and wide front fenders are in the direct path of road debris at highway speeds. Rock chips on a C8 aren't just cosmetic damage — they're expensive.

This Rapid Blue C8 came to Tint Citi Utah for full-body PPF coverage. The owner had just taken delivery and wanted the car protected before it accumulated any highway miles. Full-body coverage means every painted panel gets film: hood, fenders, doors, roof, trunk, bumpers, rocker panels, and mirrors.

The C8's body panels are a mix of carbon fiber, aluminum, and composite materials — all with different flex characteristics. PPF has to accommodate that flex without lifting at the edges or developing stress cracks over time. We use KAVACA Ultimate PPF specifically because of its elasticity and self-healing properties, which handle the C8's panel flex better than stiffer films.

The C8's front splitter and side skirts are particularly vulnerable to road debris and parking lot scrapes. We wrapped both with extra care, ensuring the film extends fully around the edges rather than terminating at the edge face — this prevents the film from peeling back from the most vulnerable points.

Full-body PPF on a C8 is a two-day project. Day one covers the front end, hood, and fenders. Day two covers the doors, roof, trunk, and rear. Each panel is cleaned, inspected, and filmed individually. The final result on this Rapid Blue C8 was a car that looked completely stock — the film is genuinely invisible on the flat panels, with only the slightest edge visible at panel transitions if you know exactly where to look.

The owner also added ceramic window tint (50% front, 35% rear) during the same visit. The combination of full-body PPF and ceramic tint means the car is protected against rock chips, UV paint fade, chemical stains, and solar heat — all without changing its appearance.
