Factory Tint / OEM Glass

Windshield Visor Strip
Non-transparent material is permitted along the top edge of the windshield (AS-1 line or top 4 inches) and in the lower left-hand corner (limited to a 3×4 inch area).
Windshield Wipers
Utah law also requires windshield wipers to be maintained in good working order. A tint violation is classified as an infraction under Utah Code 41-6a-1635.

What is the legal tint limit for front side windows in Utah?
Per Utah Code 41-6a-1635 (effective May 7, 2025), front side windows must allow at least 35% of light through (35% VLT minimum). A 5% variance is allowed when measured by a peace officer with a meter.
How dark can I tint my rear windows in Utah?
Rear side windows and the back window can be any darkness — there is no minimum VLT. However, if rear windows are tinted, your vehicle must have both left and right-side rear-view mirrors installed.
